In 2006, the industry of Grodno oblast grew by 11.4% over 2005 having beaten the projections which stood at 6.5%-8%.
The highest growth was recorded in the machinery construction and metal working industries (28.5%), flour-and-cereals industry (21%) and construction material industry (20%).
Companies of all forms of ownership met the targets on the growth of industrial and consumer goods.
Some 213 companies, or 79.5% of their total number, increased the output from 2005. The companies accounted for 92.8% of the aggregate production volume. 65 companies increased the output by 20% and more.
The production of tractor ploughs grew 3,7 times, tractor mowers – 2,4 times, PVC windows – 2 times, tins - 2,2 times, cigarettes – by 71.4%, meat – 19.3%. the production of a range of other goods was on an increase too.
New products accounted for 12.2% of the industrial offerings oblastwise (11.1% - in 2005).
The production of consumer goods in 2006 went up by 14.7% (the projections were 8%-9%), including foods – 10.1% (the forecast – 8.2%), nonfoods – 26.5% (the projections – 12.5%). |
