Capital investment in Grodno Oblast to remain unchanged in 2012
In 2012 the amount of capital investment in Grodno Oblast will be the same as in 2011, which is about Br11.7 trillion. This is stipulated by socioeconomic development targets for the region for 2012. These targets were approved by Council of Ministers’ Resolution No. 1779 of 30 December 2011

Grodno Oblast’s revenue projected at Br8.9tn in 2012

Births up 2% in Grodno Oblast in January-October
In January-October this year the birth rate in Grodno Oblast rose by 2%, BelTA learnt from the regional statistics bureau.

Grodno university gets QR code
The Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno has become the first facility in Grodno to bear a QR code, the university’s pro-rector for science Yuri Voitukevich told a press conference on 19 December. The Quick Response code is in essence a bar code that can be quickly recognized and deciphered using a mobile phone camera

Eighty outdoor rinks to be available in Grodno Oblast this winter
Thirty-eight outdoor ice skating rinks will be made in large and small cities across the region. Twenty-two of them will have skate rentals. There are plans to make 46 ice hockey grounds, of which almost 30 will be lit for night skating. Twenty-one of them will have a skate rental desk too.
