All Grodno Oblast enterprises to become profitable by late September
All enterprises of Grodno Oblast must become profitable by the end of Q3 2010, said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko as he met with Grodno Oblast Governor Semyon Shapiro on 5 August.
According to the press service of the Belarusian head of state, the meeting focused on Grodno Oblast unprofitable enterprises, which number has been halved over the last two months. The President pointed out it is necessary to step up efforts to increase the profitability of enterprises and increase salaries.
Alexander Lukashenko also gave Semyon Shapiro several other instructions concerning the construction of animal farms in rural areas, the financing of incomplete construction projects and other matters concerning Grodno Oblast’s life.
The Grodno Oblast Governor said that the oblast had gathered in the first million tonnes of grain. The head of state was concerned over Grodno Oblast’s lagging behind in harvesting pace. According to Semyon Shapiro, this year’s harvest will be at least as large as last year’s in Grodno Oblast. “We will stock up at least 1.5 million tonnes of grain,” believes the Grodno Oblast Governor.
