Grodno Oblast to build around 550,000 sq. m. of housing in 2012
In 2012 Grodno Oblast is planning to commission around 550,000 square meters of housing. Such indicators are envisaged in the socio-economic development forecast of the region for 2012, BelTA learnt from Deputy Chairman of Grodno Oblast Executive Committee Vladimir Deshko. More than 300,000 square meters of housing will be built for those in need of better housing and those who are entitled for government subsidies. About 80,000 square meters of housing will be built in rural areas. So, more than 480 flats (about 38,000 square metres) are projected to be built for workers of agricultural organizations. For large families Grodno Oblast is going to build 250 flats (20,000 square metres). Another 34 apartments (2,800 square metres) will be constructed for workers of the social sector in rural regions. More Br1.5 trillion will be required to finance housing construction in 2012, taking into account the cost of the engineering infrastructure. The amount of soft loans will be about Br981.3 billion. Grodno Oblast will continue the construction of social housing. Before the end of next year all Grodno residents who live in substandard housing will move into new apartments. One social apartment building was commissioned in the region this year. At the beginning of the year more than 380 families were on the waiting lists to improve the housing conditions. Once this house was commissioned, the list has become 130 families shorter. Another house is under construction in the Devyatovka neighborhood, the third one in the Vyshnevets neighborhood. The housing problems will be solved in all districts as well. Social housing will be built in each district of Grodno Oblast.
