Grodno Oblast’s revenue projected at Br8.9tn in 2012


According to the draft budget, in 2012 Grodno Oblast’s revenue will amount to Br8.9 trillion, the head of the financial department of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee Vladimir Kuntsevich said at a joint meeting of the Grodno Oblast Council of Deputies and Grodno Oblast Executive Committee.

The revenue in 2012 will account for 237.4% of the budget this year. Budget revenues are expected to make up Br4.6 trillion. The remaining Br4.3 trillion will be provided from the national budget in the form of subsidies and subventions.

The main sources of revue will be value added tax (34%), income tax on natural persons (31.3%), profits tax (15.4%).

Budget expenditure is projected at Br8.9 trillion. According to Vladimir Kuntsevich, the 2012 budget is socially oriented. Expenditure on wages, pensions, allowances, scholarships and other payments will make up a significant share of the total budget expenditure.

Social spending will make up Br4.7 trillion, or 54% of the budget expenditure. The education system will get Br2.5 trillion. Some Br1.6 trillion will be injected into healthcare, Br228.7 billion into culture sector. The physical training and sport will get over Br128.6 billion.

About 12% of the budget or over Br1 trillion will be spent on housing and utilities. The money will be used to repair and upgrade heating lines, elevators, and implement the program “Clean Water”.

Br745.6 billion will be earmarked for agribusiness. It is 1.5 times more than in 2011. Br700 billion of the oblast budget will be used to reduce prices for farm machines in leasing, implement government programs, compensate bank losses, purchase mineral fertilizers, etc.

The spending on road construction will make Br107.7 billion in 2012. Br46.9 billion will be allocated for the repair and renovation of public transport. In 2012, the budget will subsidize 15% of passenger transportation; the remaining 85% will be compensated by the population.

Over Br35 billion will be spent on environmental protection (waste treatment and government programs).
