Grodnoinvest capital investment up 33.9% in January-June
In January-June 2010 capital investment of the companies resident at the free economic zone Grodnoinvest soared 33.9% (against the 25% task) to make up Br46.4 billion, BelTA learnt from Deputy Head of the FEZ Administration Alexander Ponomarev.
The bulk of the capital investment was put in by the producers of fodder additives, metal containers, hosiery and woodworking companies.
The FEZ companies-residents attracted $17.9 million of foreign investments, up 26.8% from the same period last year. Direct investments made up $8 million (up 9.1%).
In H1 the FEZ manufactured Br526.5 billion worth of products (up 19.7% to the same period a year ago) and consumer goods amounting to Br320.3 billion (15.5%). Import-substituting products accounted for 33% of the total. The manufacture of such products made up Br176.8 billion, up 97.9% from H1 2009.
In January-June 2010 Grodnoinvest companies exported products and services worth $77.7 million, up 41.9% as compared to the same months last year. The import grew 20.2% to $76.6 million. The FEZ posted $1.1 million trade surplus.
The free economic zone Grodnoinvest lies within the industrial sector of Grodno, the Grodno District and the town of Lida. Its total area is 2187.83 hectares. In Grodnoinvest there are 49 companies-residents with almost 11,000 staff.
